Merry Christmas to you and your family. When I was little, and my great grandmother was alive, we used to celebrate Orthodox Christmas as well. My grandmother would have a huge Christmas dinner and all the family would come and eat at some point in the afternoon. I didn't know my great grandmother very much. She spoke very little english, mostly Ukrainian. i thought she was quite the person, as she was so little herself, just like me.
My husband Gary, our 20-year-old son Nick, and I live just outside of Wellsboro, PA. We left the rat race of Northern Virginia in 1997 and never looked back. Oh yes, did I mention that I am a quiltoholic?
